AGF Funds Inc. said Monday it will be offering a new structured investment product segment and has hired a high-profile consultant to help market the new product.
AGF said it has hired Gord McMillan, founder of Skylon Capital Corp. and Triax Capital Corp., on an exclusive consulting arrangement to assist in bringing products to market. “McMillan is a pioneer in the field with extensive experience in creating and building retail structured products,” AGF said in a statement.
The company said the first batch of products will be AGF Advantage Trusts, three individual income trusts reinforced with enhanced tax efficiency, targeted at investors looking for superior tax-efficient yield.
“They are groundbreaking products that harness the investment power of three individual income trusts wrapped within an innovative tax-efficient mechanism,” AGF said. “EP Advantage Trust, SP Advantage Trust and YP Advantage Trust represent three of Canada’s largest income trusts – Enerplus Resources Fund, Superior Plus Income Fund and Yellow Pages Income Fund.”
The AGF Advantage Trusts products launch April 4 and close mid-May.
