Dr. Allison Sekuler
Sandra Rotman Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Vice-President Research, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care
Dr. Allison Sekuler is the Sandra Rotman chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and vice-president research at Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care. She also is managing director of the Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation and the world-renowned Rotman Research Institute. A graduate of Pomona College (BA, Mathematics and Psychology) and the University of California, Berkeley (PhD, Psychology), she holds faculty appointments at the University of Toronto and McMaster University, where she was the country’s first Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience. Dr. Sekuler has a notable record of scientific achievements in aging, vision science, neural plasticity, imaging and neurotechnology; her research focuses on the prevention, detection and treatment of age-related sensory and cognitive decline. The recipient of numerous awards for research, teaching and leadership, she has vast experience in senior academic, research and innovation leadership roles, advancing internationalization, interdisciplinarity, skills-development, entrepreneurship and inclusivity.

Bruce Sellery
Finance Expert, TV Host, Author
Bruce Sellery is the Money columnist on CBC Radio, MoneySense and Cityline, the hit lifestyle TV show that airs across the U.S. and Canada. He also hosts Moolala: Money Made Simple, a weekly, national radio show on SiriusXM and is the author of two Globe & Mail bestsellers, including Moolala: Why smart people do dumb things with their money (and what you can do about it). Sellery runs a busy financial literacy consulting practice, working with regulators, such as the Ontario Securities Commission, financial institutions and large corporations. Sellery was the host and personal finance expert on Million Dollar Neighbourhood, a reality TV show on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Back in 1999, he was one of the founding staff members at BNN Bloomberg. During his decade on staff he anchored thousands of hours of live programming and interviewed thousands of CEOs, economists and analysts on the day’s top business stories.

Aneil Gokhale
Director, Philanthropy, Toronto Foundation
Aneil Gokhale is a passionate, dynamic, and goal-oriented professional with more than 15 years of successful experience. He is currently director, philanthropy at Toronto Foundation where he is responsible for the development and management of the new business portfolio. His role is focused on helping individuals, families, professional advisors, companies and other organizations engage in strategic philanthropy. Most recently, Gokhale spearheaded the successful creation and launch of Vision 2020, a new program developed to attract and inspire the next generation of philanthropists. The program has successfully engaged 115 millennials and gen-xers in a “Philanthropic MBA cohort” that provides a learning journey and enables them all to create permanent endowments to support city building philanthropy. Gokhale has been with Toronto Foundation for seven years and before that, he worked at United Way Toronto for five years and in the private sector, with GE Healthcare in Medical Sales for four years. Gokhale is the Toronto City ambassador for NEXUS, a global community founded to bridge communities of wealth and social entrepreneurship. He is also the co-chair of the Membership and Professional Advisors committee with the local Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) GTA Roundtable and has also been a mentor with CAGP, Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Inclusive Giving and Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC).

Lea Koiv
Founder, Lea Koiv & Associates Inc.
In 2016 Lea Koiv set up her consulting practice, Lea Koiv & Associates Inc., and works with accountants, lawyers, business valuators, actuaries and other professionals, as well as select high-net-worth clients, in tax, retirement and estate planning. From 2001 to 2015, Koiv worked at Standard Life, where she was national director, retail tax & estate planning and authored the company’s well-received Taxing Issues series. Koiv continues to participate in industry associations (CALU, Advocis, etc.). She is also a member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Estate Planning Council. Her articles have also appeared in a number of publications, including Advisor’s Edge.

Alexandra Macqueen
Founder, Pension Acuity Partners
Alexandra Macqueen is a certified financial planner who brings nationally recognized expertise to the practice of retirement income planning. She has worked as a financial planner since 2005 and obtained the CFP designation in 2007. Through her professional firm Pension Acuity Partners in Toronto, Macqueen partners with accountants, lawyers, actuaries and other professionals to provide specialist retirement income planning support and advice to individuals and families across Canada. In particular, Macqueen maintains an active strategic partnership with Lea Koiv at Lea Koiv & Associates to pursue joint financial planning and retirement income projects. Her retirement planning practice is built on the ideas articulated in her best-selling books, co-authored with Dr. Moshe Milevsky at the Schulich School of Business, on how to pensionize your nest egg to create guaranteed income for life.
