(February 7 – 17:10 ET) – Advisors caught up in the rush of RRSP season have an ally in the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. CCRA is inviting Canadians to verify their RRSP contribution limits before making their yearly deposits.
With the March 1 deadline for RRSP contributions fast approaching, CCRA says individuals who need help determining how much they can deduct for 2000 for contributions to their own or their spouse’s RRSP, can use CCRA’s automated phone and online services.
To get personal tax information before the 2000 contribution deadline, callers will be asked for their social insurance number, month and year of birth, and the amount entered on line 150 of their 1999 income tax return. The T.I.P.S. telephone number is 1-800-267-6999 and T.I.P.S. Online is available on the CCRA Web site at www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca
