(August 21 – 09:35 ET) – Mackenzie Financial Corp. today launched Internet statement delivery for financial advisors serving clients of Mackenzie’s MRS subsidiaries.
The new service allows advisors to access a Web-based copy of regularly-scheduled account statements of their clients from MRS Trust Company, Multiple Retirement Services Inc. and MRS Securities Services Inc. Advisors can log onto a secure MRS Web site to access client statements, which they may view or download. Soon advisors will be able to “turn off” hard copy statements altogether.
“This undertaking propels Mackenzie into an elite group of early adopters in the investment industry who are leveraging new technologies to enhance customer service and minimize costs,” said Scott Sinclair, senior vice president of electronic commerce for Mackenzie. “We are fully committed to using the latest technology to provide exceptional service to our clients. To this end, we will continue to offer an increasing number of Web-based documents in lieu of paper for both advisors and investors.”
Optus Corp., the firm building the software for the new service predicts that online statements are the wave of the future. “There’s literally no end to the value-added services and real-time customer self-help that companies can offer through the on-line statement,” said Jon Hantho, president and chief operating officer of Optus. “It’s a matter of viewing the statement as a competitive differentiation and customer loyalty builder, rather than simply a regulatory compliance tool.”
