(September 22 – 17:10 ET) – Over 1,200 insurance and financial advisors will arrive on Saskatoon this weekend for the sold-out Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors 2000 National Conference
The conference will be four days of technical workshops and exhibits, featuring both financial services industry speakers and commentators, all centred on the conference theme of “Fast Forward your Business, Partnering with Technology.”
The conference kicks off Sunday, September 24, at 08:00 CT with the sessions in this year’s program ranging from Web site design, in-depth industry analyses, technical workshops and reviews of e-commerce security procedures as they relate to the financial planning world.
Some of the featured conference guests include: broadcaster and journalist Pamela Wallin, former New Brunswick premier Frank McKenna, and financial author and humourist George Hartman.
Conference attendees will also be treated to live performances from country group Farmer’s Daughter and Canadian superstar Burton Cummings.
CAIFA says delegates to the annual general meeting portion of the event will be voting on proposed changes to the CAIFA’s membership criteria. The move follows from the board of directors’ long-term vision to broaden the Association’s mandate to both reflect the ever-changing landscape of the financial services industry and to “raise the bar” for all members to the higher degree of professionalism that consumers demand in today’s complex marketplace.
