(December 11 – 10:30 ET) – Sheryl Seigel, partner with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP in Toronto, is the new chair of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation, a professional organization for women practitioners in the field of insolvency.

Seigel is the co-founder and a former co-chair of the association. She says, “I am looking forward to further building the value of the IWIRC as a professional resource for women lawyers, accountants and bankers in the field.”

Seigel is a specialist in business restructurings and reorganizations, commercial insolvency and bankruptcy law, secured transactions and creditors’ and debtors’ remedies. She has been an executive member of the Insolvency Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association since 1990 and is a member of IBA, ABA, Insol International, ABI and the Commercial Law League of America.

IWIRC is an international professional organization established in 1993 that is comprised of insolvency professionals from a variety of disciplines including attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, academics and turnaround managers. The IWIRC provides female insolvency and restructuring practitioners professional development, leadership and networking opportunities on a local and international level.
