(September 7 – 17:10 ET) – The Financial Services Commission is inviting comment on a couple of draft policies dealing with the transition from the Ontario investment rules to the federal investment regulations for pensions. FSCO says, “pension stakeholders have identified certain issues” coming out of this transition and it has drafted a couple of policies to deal with them.

FSCO is now inviting the industry to comment. It particularly wants to know whether the examples in the draft policy on “Transitional Investment Rules” are useful and if they are, which other issues may be appropriate to include. Comments are due by September 30.

FSCO also says its 2001-2002 Statement of Priorities included a commitment to investigate the provision of advance pension rulings. It has now developed proposed guidelines for advance pension rulings and would like comment on them. Comments are due by September 30.
