(December 21 – 17:20 ET) – Canadian First Financial Group Inc.’s board of directors has appointed Don Hyslop as president and chief operating officer of the company.

Hyslop will be responsible for all divisions and subsidiaries of the company. CFFG is the publicly-traded company which owns Ross Dixon Financial Holdings, Burgeonvest Securities Ltd., EFI Financial Services, Golden Financial, and Hewmac Financial Group.

It is the midst of selling Burgeonvest and is also hiring an investment banker to look after its own future, after a company controlled by former president Mark Wilson suggested it may make a bid for CFFG.

Hyslop joined the company in August, and has more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry. CFFG chairman Peter Williams says, “He has already made an invaluable contribution to the company, gaining the respect and confidence of colleagues and clients alike.”
