(October 4 – 14:55 ET) – The Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors has teamed up with leading educational providers to offer a two-day interactive satellite session to assist Certified Financial Planner candidates in preparing for the Professional Proficiency Examination, the qualifying exam for the CFP designation.

Organized by Foran Financial, BankWorks, Cancom Learning Solutions, CCH Canadian and CAIFA, the state-of-the-art sessions will take place on November 4th and 5th in Halifax, Prince George, Toronto and Vancouver, with more sites to be added as necessary.

“Finding ways to incorporate the benefits of technology into the way we do business is becoming a way of life for insurance and financial advisors,” says Damian Borges, director of continuing education at CAIFA. “The provision of relevant continuing education for CAIFA members has been put on fast-forward with this initiative and we’re pleased to be a part of it.”

CAIFA says the seminar is designed to prepare students for the November 18th sitting of the rigorous PPE, administered by the Financial Planners Standards Council. It covers the financial planning field, budgeting and savings, insurance matters, family legal issues, key business issues and the residential mortgage market.

The sessions will closely replicate normal classroom interaction and students will be able to ask questions, answer quiz questions, work on case studies and interact with other students across the country through a facilitator. Organizers hope to continue the satellite seminars for each sitting of the PPE, offered twice annually, and for additional educational seminars throughout the year.
