(September 29 – 09:50 ET) – Assante Corp. says that its integration of RWB Advisory Services Inc. is complete, creating Assante Asset Management Inc.
Assante’s Canadian asset management division, Loring Ward Investment Counsel Ltd. will be changing its name to Assante Asset Management Ltd, effective October 1. Pat Keating, president and CEO of Loring Ward, will assume responsibility for both Assante Asset Management units. Keating and Eric Stefanson, COO of Loring Ward, will lead the integration of the U.S. and Canadian asset management functions. Alex Potts, formerly senior vice president product and business development of RWB, has been appointed general manager of Assante Asset Management Inc.
Keating replaces John Bowen, former president and CEO of Assante Capital Management Inc. Bowen will be launching a new company called Creating Equity Group LLC that will assist financial advisors in building successful advisory businesses. He will act as a consultant to Assante’s advisory channel both in Canada and the U.S.
Assante acquired RWB in 1998. Based in San Jose, Calif., the money management firm has approximately $2 billion of client assets under administration and a network of over 400 advisors. RWB is the first of almost a dozen Assante companies scheduled for integration and name change this year.
