Pat Chiefalo will join BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd. as managing director, head of product for iShares Canada in September, the Toronto-based company announced Wednesday.
Over the course of his 15-year career in the industry, Chiefalo has established himself as an expert in exchange-traded funds (ETF) research, product analysis and industry trends.
“As the leading provider in ETFs we are committed to helping Canadian investors realize the benefits of them,” says Noel Archard, managing director, head of BlackRock Canada. “BlackRock’s commitment to the iShares business in Canada is not only firmly entrenched, but growing, and I can think of no person better able to influence that growth than Pat. We are absolutely thrilled to have him on the team.”
Prior to joining BlackRock, Chiefalo was director of ETF research and strategy for Montreal-based National Bank Financial Ltd. and vice president of derivatives sales with Merrill Lynch. Chiefalo is a CFA Charter Holder, and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
Chiefalo will step into his new role with BlackRock on September 2.
