Robin Koroluk, Stephen Miazga, Sean McFayden and Caitlin Crampton have joined iA Private Wealth, bringing more than $1.5 billion in assets under management and a team of 15 in total with them from ScotiaMcLeod. Koruluk, a senior wealth advisor and portfolio manager, spent 15 years with Scotiabank, starting out as investment associate in 2011. Miazga, who has past experience as a tax and estate planning lawyer, joined ScotiaMcLeod in 2021, teaming up with Koruluk. He is an advanced planning strategist with iA. Koroluk and Miazga are both based in Saskatoon, while McFayden and Crampton are both wealth advisors based in Winnipeg.
Miazga said in an interview that in their search for a new home, the principals knew they didn’t want to join another bank. IA “offered a good platform to let us be flexible, combine our businesses together under one roof in our multi-family office and keep scaling,” he said. He added that the four principals, who were loosely affiliated at Scotia, wanted to go somewhere that would “give us some independence and flexibility,” where they could bring all their admin staff and continue to grow. Together, they will operate as First Growth Multi Family Office.
In a release, Adam Elliott, president and CEO of iA Private Wealth, said the team’s move “underscores the strength of our wealth platform, as well as the effectiveness of our technology and resources in attracting advisors.” Stephan Bourbonnais, executive vice-president, wealth management at iA Financial Group, said the addition “is consistent with our objectives set during the RF Capital transaction announcement to welcome more new advisors, accelerate our growth strategy and strengthen the value proposition for both clients and advisors.”
IA’s acquisition of RF Capital closed at the end of October.
