Standard Life Investments has announced three key appointments to its overseas offices as it continues its global expansion.

Mary English has been appointed head of U.S. equities and will be based in Standard Life Investments’ new U.S. headquarters in Boston where she will have overall responsibility. English joined on 12 November from Freedom Capital Management Corp. where she was a partner and equity portfolio manager having previously worked for Fidelity. English will report to Norman Raschkowan, senior vice president, North American equities who is based in Montreal.

Ronnie Petrie, currently head of Asian (ex- Japan) equity team in Edinburgh, will move to the United States where he will play a key role in the establishment of Standard Life Investments new fund management office in Boston. Similarly, Mark Lin, equity analyst in Montreal office will relocate to Boston in 2002.

Earlier this year Standard Life Investments announced its plans to open a fund management office in Boston. As well as Mary Ronnie and Mark, a team of analysts will work from Boston.
