(September 20) – Sceptre Investment Counsel Ltd. is reporting reduced earnings.

Sceptre says earnings for the three months ended August 31, were just over $3 million, or 23¢ a share fully-diluted. This is down from the period last year when the firm reported 27¢ a share. Revenue for the third quarter was $12,329,000 compared to $14,185,000 for the period in 1999.

Earnings for the nine months ended August 31, were 75¢ a share, down from 83¢ in 1999, and revenue this year is $38,430,000 compared to $42,896,000 in 1999.

The company has declared a quarterly dividend of 26¢ per share on outstanding class A and common shares payable on October 13, in line with last year’s dividend.
