(January 28 – 15:45 ET) – RBC DS employees in Toronto will be trading their ties for toques on Tuesday, February 1 to raise funds for Raising the Roof, a national charity dedicated to finding long-term solutions to homelessness.
Investment Advisors, traders and staff at RBC DS will be wearing toques to raise awareness for Raising the Roof. And they will also be selling the red and black toques for a minimum donation of five dollars. The funds raised will go towards local community efforts and developing a national strategy. Raising the Roof is targeting sales of 20,000 toques in total or 10 times the amount sold last year. RBC DS is also donating a further $200,000.
“Toque Tuesday raises money for a very worthwhile cause and we’re proud to sponsor it,” says Ann Louise Vehovec, Managing Director, RBC Dominion Securities, and a member of Raising the Roof’s board of directors. “It’s exciting to work in partnership with an organization like Raising the Roof, which is taking a fresh, innovative approach to combating homelessness on a national, regional and local scale.”
