Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.

Trevor Short has been appointed CEO of Odlum Brown, succeeding longtime leader Debra Doucette. He was named president last year, after Doucette, who joined the firm in 1991 and served as president and CEO from 2007 to 2024, cut back her duties. Doucette, a 35-year-plus industry veteran, has stepped into the role of chair. She was previously executive chair.

“Leading Odlum Brown and its wonderful team has been one of the highlights of my life, and I am proud of everything we accomplished,” Doucette said in a release. “As I said when he assumed the president role last year, Trevor is absolutely the right person to take Odlum Brown proudly forward as president and CEO.”

Short has had a nearly three-decade career at Odlum Brown, serving as vice-president for nearly a decade of that and as a portfolio manager for 15 years.

Other moves include:

  • Bryce Walker has been named president & CEO of CC&L Funds Inc., an affiliate of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group. Walker, who has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, joined the team in 2012 as vice-president, business development.

Before joining the firm in 2020, Wallis spent more than 25 with Accenture, most recently as a managing director of applied intelligence in Canada.
