(February 21 – 16:10 ET) – Manulife Financial announced today that it has signed an agreement to begin distributing individual life insurance, annuities and other individual products in Western Canada through Independent Brokerage Group a provider of insurance and related financial products based in British Columbia.
“This is a particularly good fit for Manulife Financial,” says Lyle Doherty, British Columbia Regional Vice-President for Manulife Financial. Under terms of the agreement, Vancouver-based IBG will market Manulife Financial products through their Managing General Agency.
IBG is British Columbia’s largest wholesaler of Life, Living Benefit, and Segregated Fund Products and is headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in Victoria, Kamloops, New Westminster, and Kelowna, B.C. IBG serves more than 1,000 brokers in Western Canada with competitive life and health insurance products. IBG is a member of the HUB Group of companies.
