PlanPlus Inc. has opened a permanent office in Shenzhen, China, the company announced Thursday.

Brad Greer, vice president global sales and China operations will be located in Shenzhen in order to better serve PlanPlus Inc.’s increasing customer base in the Asian region and specifically China and Hong Kong.

“Over the past 12 months PlanPlus evaluated a number of alternatives for a permanent presence in China,” said Greer. “Shenzhen provided an ideal location as the major finance centre after Shanghai, a technology hub and a simple subway ride to the well established markets in Hong Kong. It provides a perfect location from which to grow our sales and service efforts in the region.”

Halley Bao will join PlanPlus as the local office manager providing additional operational depth. Bao has worked as an investment professional and is also a former English teacher and trainer.

“According to a Goldman Sachs study, we could see 2 billion people join the global middle class in the next 20 years,” said Shawn Brayman, President of PlanPlus.

“With the growth we have witnessed in the last decade we have worked in the region, and what is before us, we believe the opportunity for financial planning solutions is unprecedented,” Brayman added.

Headquartered in Lindsay, Ont., PlanPlus currently has users in a dozen countries in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe. The PlanPlus Planit multi-lingual, multi-currency software solution also supports other jurisdictions and provides services and documents in four languages — English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
