Donald Francoeur and Assunta Di Lorenzo have joined the national law firm, Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, as partners in the Montreal office.

Francoeur has been a practitioner in banking law for over 20 years, specializing in asset-backed, project and structured finance, as well as mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and securities. He has worked with most of the major Canadian financial institutions and has an extensive cross border financial services practice, both U.S. and European. Francoeur joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as the head of the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group in Montreal, after having spent the past 14 years as a partner at another national law firm.

Di Lorenzo brings over 16 years of experience to Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. For the past eight years, she was VP, general counsel, corporate secretary and corporate compliance officer of a large Canadian investment management/mutual fund company. Prior to that, Di Lorenzo spent eight years in private practice as a corporate, commercial and securities lawyer with two other national law firms.

“Donald Francoeur and Assunta Di Lorenzo are both recognized as experts in their respective fields, and I am extremely pleased that they are now part of the FMC team,” says David Robottom, CEO of the firm. “Their expertise and extensive hands-on experience, in Canada and abroad, round out our already considerable capabilities in banking and financial services in Montreal.”
