Global Financial Group Inc. (GFG) today announced the addition of Mary Wong to its senior management team. Wong has been appointed vice president of GFG and manager, marketplace operations of e-globe x-change Canada (EGX), a wholly owned subsidiary of GFG.
“As we prepare for the upcoming launch of the EGX, we are very excited to add yet another industry veteran to our growing group of industry professionals,” said Leo Chamberland, president and CEO of GFG. “Ms. Wong’s extensive trading and compliance experience will be instrumental to the successful launch of the EGX. Her skill-set forms a crucial foundation for the integrity of our marketplace operations.”
Wong brings over 20 years of trading operations experience to the group. From 2004, she held the position of acting manager/assistant manager, surveillance and compliance for Market Regulation Services Inc. (RS). In this position, Wong managed RS divisions in Vancouver, responsible for real- time monitoring of trading on the TSX Venture Exchange, post-trade analysis, and trade desk compliance.
From 2000 to 2004, Wong held the position of compliance officer with RS, reporting to the manager of trade desk compliance.
Earlier in her career as a trading co-ordinator at the Vancouver Stock Exchange, Wong played a key role in the implementation of the first Canadian electronic trading system, the Vancouver Computerized Trading system

GFG is actively pursuing its objective to obtain a Recognition Order to operate EGX as a “Recognized Canadian Securities Exchange” for real estate-backed securities.
The purpose of the EGX is to provide a marketplace to trade individual revenue producing real estate properties or projects converted to publicly traded assets in the form of Real Property Investment Units.
