(September 24 – 11:35 ET) – ING DIRECT and Canadian Tire are joining together to roll-out an in-store banking service available at 350 Canadian Tire stores across Canada.
The first Canadian Tire stores to receive the proprietary automated bank machines will be in southern Ontario, including the Greater Toronto Area and Kitchener-Waterloo region.
Consumers will have access to the first bank machine in Canada providing retail credit card customers with tailored automatic banking services, all with one-stop-shopping onvenience.
The plan provides ING DIRECT customers with a national retail network to access Canadian or U.S. savings accounts and loan accounts. ING DIRECT’s customers can receive cash in Canadian or U.S. currencies and there are no fees or service charges of any kind for withdrawals or transfers at the new network.
The bank machines gives Canadian Tire customers the option to use their Canadian Tire retail credit card or Options MasterCard to perform proprietary functions such as account balance information, PIN changes and Options Points balance inquiries, all without fees. Cash advances are also available through the bank machine.
Customers can access automated banking machines seven days a week in
Canadian Tire stores. The bank machine is also available to anyone with an
Interac bank card, Cirrus or MasterCard card.
