(December 22 – 13:50 ET) – Canadian Direct Insurance Incorporated, a subsidiary of HSBC Bank Canada, has changed its name to HSBC Canadian Direct Insurance Incorporated.

This name change is part of a global initiative by the HSBC Group to create a unified brand using the name HSBC and the Group’s hexagon symbol everywhere it operates. This initiative is designed to achieve full recognition for HSBC as one of the world’s largest and most successful financial services organizations.

Canadian Direct Insurance was founded in New Westminster in 1996 as a member of the HSBC Group and grew rapidly to become the leading private sector auto insurance provider in British Columbia. With call centres in New Westminster and Edmonton, the company offers optional auto insurance and home insurance directly to consumers in British Columbia and Alberta.
