Two European firms have topped the latest quality ratings for investment banks published by Greenwich Associates. On a global basis, Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank top the consulting firm’s rankings.

Greenwich reports that companies and institutional investors around the world cited Barclays and Deutsche Bank more than any other global firm for superior quality in investment banking, corporate banking and capital markets activities.

Every year, Greenwich names the quality leaders in 65 regional and product categories in investment/corporate banking, equities, and fixed income, currencies and commodities. The results are based on interviews with more than 20,000 large corporate and institutional users of financial services and products, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, hedge funds, and corporate treasury departments.

For 2010, Barclays and Deutsche Bank were named quality leaders in 14 and 13 regional and product categories, respectively. They were followed by J.P. Morgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, each of which were named leaders in 12 and 10 product categories, respectively.
