The Investment Dealers Association of Canada announced today the appointment of Carmen Crépin, former chair of the Québec Securities Commission, to the newly created position of vice president, Quebec.
“We are delighted that Carmen Crépin has decided to accept the senior position in Quebec for the IDA,” said IDA President and CEO Joe Oliver, in a news release. “She brings a wealth of expertise and a national and international reputation to this important position. Her appointment demonstrates the IDA’s commitment to the highest standards of regulation and to a strong presence in Quebec.”
Crepin was most recently chair of the Quebec Securities Commission, a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators and the chair of the Council of Securities Regulators of the Americas.
Prior to joining the commission in 1999, she was vice president and secretary of the Fonds de solidarité des Travailleurs du Québec where she was responsible for legal services. From 1989 to 1998, she served as vice president and secretary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. She is a lawyer and member of the Barreau du Québec.
