(December 8 – 08:50 ET) – The Investment Dealers Association released its “List of Securities Eligible for Reduced Margin.” But in an usual move, it highlighted a list of stocks which could be removed due to excessive volatility.

These stocks are still eligible for reduced margin. But, the IDA says, “while the lower margin rates available to these securities are not being withdrawn for these securities at this point, member firms should be aware that if these volatility levels persist, these securities are not likely to be included on the next LSERM issued.”

Names on the list include such prominent traders as: Biovail, C-MAC Industries, Corel, JDS Uniphase, Nortel Networks, Research in Motion, Telus, among numerous others.
