Lara Zink is the new president and CEO of Women in Capital Markets (WCM).

Zink, who was previously managing director of global institutional equity sales with RBC Capital Markets in Toronto, began the role on Monday. She has more than 25 years of experience in capital markets.

Zink succeeded Camilla Sutton, who left WCM in December to manage equity research at BMO Capital Markets. Katie Squires-Thompson held the CEO role on an interim basis.

“We’re delighted to have Lara assume leadership of WCM at such a pivotal time in the [equity, diversity and inclusion] space,” said Nathalie Clark, chair of WCM’s board of directors, in a statement. “Not only is Lara a trusted business leader and capital markets veteran, she has a long history of engagement with WCM, and understands the complexities and challenges our industry is facing.”

Zink holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and sits on several boards and advisory committees. She is also an active volunteer for the Special Olympics.
