Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. (IA) has appointed Pierre Miron as executive vice president, information systems, effective Sept. 6, the Quebec City based-company announced Monday.

Miron will also sit on IA’s planning committee.

Miron has more than 34 years of solid experience in the information technology (IT) and finance sectors. He has worked at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec since 2010, where he held the positions of executive vice president and chief operations and IT officer, and was a member of the Caisse’s management committee.

This appointment is in keeping with iA Financial Group’s major shift to digital.

“Pierre’s principal mandate will be supporting the company’s growth by developing and implementing our IT and global infrastructure strategies,” says Denis Ricard, incoming president and CEO of IA, in a statement. “He will work closely with the business lines to implement the business model and the various initiatives aimed at positioning IA Financial Group in the digital era.”

Miron has a degree in business informatics from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and has worked with finance and consulting companies. He has also sat on several boards of directors.
