Canada Life announced on Wednesday it has appointed Jeff Marshall as senior vice president and chief digital officer, effective May 13.

Prior to joining Canada Life, Marshall served as chief product and marketing officer at Street Capital Bank of Canada. He has also worked in senior roles at Bank of Nova Scotia, where he was senior vice president of digital banking and head of Scotiabank’s Digital Factory.

In the newly created role of chief digital officer, Marshall, based in Toronto, will oversee the development of Canada Life’s digital strategy. He will report to Fabrice Morin, Canada Life’s executive vice president, Canadian Operations.

“Our company is undergoing a digital transformation. That’s why we’re excited to have Jeff join our team as we take the next step in our digital journey,” Morin said in a statement. “In this role, he will help strengthen our focus on digital initiatives as we work to amplify our digital capabilities.”
