Louai Bibi has been named the winner of the 2026 National Financial Planning Awards.
Organized by the Financial Planning Association of Canada (FPAC) and Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (IAFP), the awards recognize outstanding financial planners in the country.
Each year, industry professionals are invited to anonymously submit a recent case study of a time when they helped clients achieve their financial goals. Judges then go through the submissions in two rounds to select a winner.
Bibi is a wealth advisor and associate portfolio manager with PWL Capital Inc. in Ottawa. He was recognized for presenting a “complex and intimate” case study, FPAC said in a statement posted on LinkedIn.
“It was the story of a high-income couple with important careers, property holdings and corporate tax considerations in the mix … before finally hitting a point where they need to rebalance their high-stress life to meet the unique care needs (and fleeting childhoods) of their daughters,” the statement reads.
Bibi, for his part, shared a message: “Personal finance is personal.”
“There’s always research and evidence and data that we can lean on, but at the end of the day, people have to feel that everything will be OK,” he added in the statement.
Bibi will receive the award during the IAFP Symposium in Winnipeg this September. As part of the prize, he will get to attend the conference for free. His travel and accommodation will also be covered.
