(October 18 – 17:20) – A survey by Tempest Consultants has revealed that the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is the number one fund manager according to executives of publicly traded Canadian companies.
Tempest has unveiled the results of a survey of 292 publicly traded Canadian companies that it conducted for Reuters to determine their opinion of two types of suppliers of capital: fund managers and brokers.
The executives of publicly traded Canadian companies ranked the team of managers at the Caisse as the best individual managers. In this category, Stéphane Gagnon, a Portfolio Manager with the Caisse’s stock markets, sector management team, won the honours, ranking first — in a tie with another manager — among those individuals perceived as the most competent by the executives of Canadian companies.
“The survey findings confirm the soundness of our approach, which is based on in-depth knowledge of the companies we invest in, effective relations with them and teamwork” said Jean-Claude Scraire, chairman of the board and CEO of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
