egX Group today reported that it has filed an application with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) to operate egX Canada as a securities exchange in Quebec.

egX Group has been in discussions with the AMF and looks forward to introducing new opportunities to the Quebec financial, real estate and investor communities.

On March 14, 2007, the British Columbia Securities Commission recognized egX Canada as an exchange under the Securities Act (British Columbia). In June 2007, egX Group filed an application with the Ontario Securities Commission.

Mary Wong, president egX Canada says, “Quebec is an important market. This application is another important step towards our goal of bringing new and innovative real estate securities to the Canadian marketplace.”

egX Group is developing the egX, a global securities marketplace designed for the listing and trading of real estate securities and related financial products. The company is preparing to launch its first marketplace in Canada under egX Canada.
