  • Michael Arts and his team have joined IG Private Wealth Management from Manulife Securities as executive consultants. Arts was previously a senior financial advisor and portfolio manager with Manulife Wealth for over three decades. He brings with him Chris Thornton, who has been a financial advisor for nearly 20 years and Chris Chapman who was an investment associate on his team at Manulife Wealth.
  • Jeff Alexander has been named president and CEO of Northern Trust Canada. He brings more than 35 years of financial sector experience, most recently in executive roles at Telus Health and LifeWorks/Morneau Shepell before its acquisition by Telus Health. Alexander was also a director, eastern region, at CIBC Mellon for over a decade.
  • Avinash D’Souza has been appointed vice-president of product strategy at Harvest ETFs. He was previously with Global X Canada for more than five years, ending his time there as vice-president of product marketing.
  • Nur Khan has been appointed managing director at SAF Group, where he’ll lead the alternative capital provider’s new asset-based finance strategy. Khan has three decades of experience in structured finance, including 20 years as managing director and head of securitization finance at RBC Capital Markets.
  • Xin Liu has been appointed vice-president, strategy and enablement, retail advice & solutions with Sun Life. She was previously VP of client strategy, transformation & enablement.
  • Four new directors have been elected to the board of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association. They are: Harleen Bains, managing director at RBC Capital Markets and head of global markets sales, Canada; Koichiro Funayama, managing director and head of derivatives business strategy with Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities Co., Ltd.; Sarah McDowell, CFO of BP Energy Company and VP finance and risk, Gas and Power Trading Americas, BP; and Susi de Verdelon, CEO of LCH Ltd., Markets Division, LSEG.
