Jacques Martin is now chairman of the board of Quebec City-based Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. (IA Financial), the insurance and wealth-management company announced Friday.
Martin succeeds Jocelyne Bourgon, who led the board through a period of transition that included the retirement of Yvon Charest, who had been CEO of IA Financial for 18 years. With Charest’s successor, Denis Ricard, now at the helm, “the time is opportune to name the next person to lead the board,” Bourgon says in a statement.
Martin is a corporate director and has been a member of IA Financial board of directors since 2011. His previous roles have included managing director and head of international equities at Goldman Sachs, and senior vice president, international equities at the Caisse de dépôt et placement de Québec.
