DesRosiers Automotive Consultants Inc. says auto sales in June rose compared with a year ago, breaking an eight-month streak of year-over-year declines.

The firm says light vehicle sales totalled 182,000 for the month.

The result was up 1.9% from 178,000 in June last year.

DesRosiers managing partner Andrew King says given the challenges facing the economy, he’d take any sort of market gain as a positive.

The seasonally adjusted annual rate for the month came in at 1.84 million.

On a six-month basis, sales totalled 950,000, down 2.6% from 976,000 in the first six months of 2025.
