Richardson Wealth has unveiled its new name: Nobelia Wealth.
The name change, which follows the firm’s acquisition by iA Financial Group last fall, is expected to take effect Nov. 30, subject to regulatory approvals.
“The new name symbolizes a tradition of excellence and trust and honours our heritage while expressing our confidence in the future,” said Julie Gallagher, president and CEO of Richardson Wealth, in a release. “Nobelia Wealth will continue to deliver multigenerational wealth stewardship to families, professionals and business owners across Canada.”
According to the release, the name is meant to evoke “high standards of honesty and sophistication” and reflect the firm’s integrity, character and longstanding commitment to clients.
Richardson said it would continue to provide a “distinctive advisory experience” under its new name, drawing on the expanded technology and capabilities under the iA Financial umbrella.
IA purchased Richardson for $691 million, including advisor retention costs. As part of the deal to acquire the firm from RF Capital Corp., iA agreed to retire the Richardson name within 30 months of the acquisition’s closing.
Gallagher, who was appointed Richardson CEO in March, previously noted that advisors were keen to complete the rebranding sooner rather than later. In March, she noted it was a “once-in-a-lifetime chance of being able to choose our new brand identity, which will represent who we are and what we want to be known for, and will accompany us in our growth journey.”
Along with Nobelia Wealth, iA Financial also owns iA Private Wealth and Investia, each with a different operating model. “Advisors can select the model that best aligns with their business strategy and growth objectives, while benefiting from various levels of support and access to a broad investment shelf, including mutual funds, securities and alternative investments,” said Stephan Bourbonnais, executive vice-president, iA Wealth, in the release.
