Toronto-based Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada has revealed that Vicken (Vic) Kazazian, senior vice president, chief operating officer, individual insurance and wealth, will be retiring on April 1.

Taking over Kazazian’s responsibilities will be Vineet Kochhar, who has been appointed vice president, individual solutions, individual insurance and wealth.

In his new role, Kochhar will be responsible for the development, management and delivery of end-to-end products and solutions to help clients address their financial needs.

Kochhar has held various leadership roles within Sun Life Financial Canada, since joining the company in 2009. He was most recently with the client solutions team. Prior to joining Sun Life, he was a principal with global consulting firm Mercer.

Kazazian joined Sun Life in 1978 and has since held various senior level positions over the course of his career. Prior to assuming his current role, he was senior vice president, career sales force, which involved responsibility for more than 4,100 advisors, managers, and associate advisors as well as 500 staff across Canada.

Kazazian is also the chairman of the board of directors for Sun Life Financial Investment Services (Canada) Inc.
