The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) on Thursday launched a new website that aims to help the fight against the financial exploitation of seniors.

ServeOurSeniors.org provides specific information on seniors-related resources for different audiences, including: investors, caregivers, the industry and policymakers.

The site includes an interactive map designed to help users find contact information for their local securities regulator, adult protective services agency, and other senior-related government agencies.

“We are pleased to provide a resource-rich online environment for senior investors and those best positioned to provide for their care, financial security and protection,” says Judith Shaw, president of NASAA and Maine Securities Administrator.

The new website also provides an online presence for NASAA’s Committee on Senior Issues & Diminished Capacity and its advisory council. The committee and the council were set up in 2014 to work on a range of issues facing senior investors, regulators and securities industry professionals. The committee is also developing best practice recommendations for broker-dealers and investment advisers working with senior clients; and, it is developing proposed model legislation to protect vulnerable adults.
