(October 4 – 10:15 ET) – The
long-awaited S&P/TSE 60 index
participation units open for
trading today on the Toronto Stock
Exchange under the symbol XIU. They
are managed by Barclays Global
Investors Canada Ltd.
The so-called i60s are units of
a fund called the iUnits S&P/TSE
60 Index Participation Fund, which
tracks the S&P/TSE 60 Index. The
fund’s $400 million initial
offering, involving 10.2 million
units, was bought by institutional
investors.
The i60s are fully RRSP-eligible
and trade just like the TIPS 35 and
TIPS 100 units – in other words,
just like any other stock.
