More technology issues in the U.S. securities markets Monday, this time affecting options trading.

The NYSE halted trading on its Arca Options exchange for about 20 minutes this afternoon, citing problems with market data. Trading resumed in all issues at about 14:00pm ET.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) also reported systems issues this afternoon due to market data problems that disrupted trading.

At this point, the exchanges haven’t offered an explanation of the precise issue. However, it comes in the wake of a series of technology problems for U.S. markets, which first arose with a prolonged outage in trading of NASDAQ securities back on Aug. 22.

Last week, U.S. regulators met with the exchanges and proposed a series of steps that they plan to take in order to ensure that market infrastructure is more robust and resilient.
