Toronto-based Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. and its affiliate AlphaPro Management Inc. announced on Friday that Don Vialoux and Jon Vialoux are no longer research analysts for Horizons Seasonal Rotation ETF.

Horizons also points out in the announcement that Brooke Thackray continues as lead analyst for this exchange-traded fund (ETF).

Horizons Seasonal Rotation ETF uses a proprietary, seasonal rotation investment strategy, which Thackray, Don Vialoux and Jon Vialoux co-developed, according to the firm’s website.

The strategy’s core position consists of exposure to major North American equity markets during favourable seasons and cash, money market and fixed-income securities in unfavourable seasons.

The investment objective and portfolio strategy has not changed and Horizons does not anticipate any change in how portfolio decisions for this ETF are made, according to the firm’s announcement.

“[Horizons Seasonal Rotation ETF] is our second-oldest actively managed ETF and one of our most successful in terms of sales,” says Steve Hawkins, co-CEO of Horizons, in a statement. “Brooke’s ground-breaking research on seasonal investment trends and timely insight has been at the core of this success.”
