Toronto-based Invesco Canada Ltd. announced updates to its mutual fund line up on Friday that include changes to investment strategy as well as name and risk rating change.

Specifically, Invesco will modify Trimark Global Balanced Fund’s investment strategy so that the portfolio management team may invest in underlying fixed-income funds in addition to direct securities for the fixed-income component of the strategy, Invesco says in a statement.

The change is intended to improve trading efficiency as the portfolio management team can now make adjustments to the funds without buying or selling the underlying securities in smaller amounts.

In addition, the firm will update the name of Invesco Intactive Strategic Yield Portfolio to Invesco Strategic Yield Fund in an effort to emphasize the fund’s attention to yield.

Lastly, Invesco has altered the risk rating for Invesco Global Bond Fund in Canada to “low” from “low to medium.” to better capture the fund’s volatility.

These changes will be made effective in the final filing of Invesco’s simplified prospectus.
