Franklin Templeton Canada has added two sustainable ETFs from in-house investment manager Martin Currie.

The Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Emerging Markets Active ETF and the Franklin Martin Currie Sustainable Global Equity Active ETF started trading Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Both funds are managed by Martin Currie LLC, a subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. and a global active equities specialist that focuses on sustainable investing.

The new emerging markets fund aims to invest in quality emerging market equities with long-term growth potential using environmental, social and governance integration. The global active equities ETF aims to invest in companies with a history of high and sustainable returns.

The new funds are the latest sustainable ETFs from Franklin Templeton Canada that use the parent company’s in-house boutique managers. In June, the firm launched three ETFs managed by Brandywine Global and ClearBridge Investments.

“We continue to focus on providing Canadian investors with a world-class fund line-up featuring boutique investment managers with global and sustainability expertise to help them achieve their desired investment outcomes,” said Duane Green, president and CEO of Franklin Templeton Canada, in a release.
