Toronto-based CI Investments Inc. has introduced CI Private Pools, a platform of 17 focused mandates designed to meet the needs of affluent and high net-worth investors (HNWIs), the company announced Tuesday.

The 17 pools are diversified by asset class and geographic focus. They draw the experience and specialized expertise on CI’s portfolio management teams including Signature Global Asset Management, Cambridge Global Asset Management, Sentry Investment Management, Black Creek Investment Management, Marret Asset Management, Altrinsic Global Advisors and Picton Mahoney Asset Management.

The pools offer exposure to strategies that are not easily replicated by individual investors, CI says in a news release.

The feature a simplified flat-fee pricing model and a minimum investment of $100,000 per pool.

“We have designed CI Private Pools to make it easier to do business with CI, with a simplified and very competitive pricing structure,” says Roy Ratnavel, executive vice president and head of sales for CI, in a statement. “The platform includes a broad selection of pools, providing investors and advisors with sophisticated strategies and the flexibility to construct portfolios tailored to their individual needs.”

The pools are the first of several new products CI is planning for the coming months, he says.
