The Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) is calling for nominations for its annual Top Under 40 Award, the IIAC Hall of Fame, and two new awards.

The Top Under 40 award recognizes young professionals whose “drive, dedication, personal and professional qualities and accomplishments have brought distinction to the investment industry,” the IIAC said in a release.

Nominations for the award close on June 3 at 5 p.m. ET.

Last year’s winner was Jonathan Lin, wealth advisor and financial planner with BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. in Toronto. After the pandemic hit, Lin helped organize and deliver almost 1,200 meals to emergency front-line workers at Toronto Western Hospital and Toronto General Hospital.

The IIAC is also calling for nominations for the IIAC Hall of Fame, where inductees are honoured for their lifetime achievements in the Canadian marketplace and its broader industry goals.

The IIAC has also created two new awards for which it is soliciting nominations: the IIAC Inclusive Leadership Award, which honours positive impact on organizational diversity, equity and inclusion; and the IIAC Innovation Award, which honours leadership in the use of technology to improve the investor experience or address ESG concerns.

Nominations for the Hall of Fame and the new awards close on Friday, May 13.

Recipients of all awards will be announced and celebrated on Oct. 27 in Toronto.
