(March 14 – 18:00 ET) – The Ontario Securities Commission is proposing a policy to recognize issuers from other jurisdictions as reporting issuers in Ontario.
The policy is intended to deal with issuers listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange Inc. and those who have been reporting issuers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec or Nova Scotia.
Assuming the issuer is in good standing in their primary jurisdiction, and is in good standing with the CDNX, the OSC would deem the company as a reporting issuer in Ontario.
Until Ontario begins participating in the Capital Pool Company Program of the CDNX, the policy would not apply to any Capital Pool issuers until at least 12 months after their Qualifying Transaction.
Comments are invited on the policy, due by May 9.
