(February 14 – 17:40 ET) – Emerging 3rd.millennium Growth Funds is launching what it calls Canada’s first pure life science mutual fund, EMF Life Science.

The company specializes in investments in the world’s fastest growing industries, life sciences and information technology related to life sciences.

“This is not just another healthcare fund, this is a life science fund,” said John Melikoff, vice president and portfolio manager, Emerging 3rd.millennium Growth Funds Inc. “We seek firms devoted to applying pure science and innovation to improve people’s lives. We invest in firms that specialize in such things as genomics research and therapeutic drug discovery.”

“The portfolio managers take a top-down approach in determining the portfolio’s stock weightings,” said Melikoff. “This involves analyzing industry wide trends in therapeutic drug sales, in combination with constant monitoring of developments at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which includes monitoring both clinical trial results and any changes in regulatory filings.”

Emerging 3rd.millennium Growth Funds was founded in March 2000 with Albert Lambert as president, and John Melikoff, vice president, finance and portfolio manager.

Headquartered in Montreal, the company provides corporate cash services, pension and private client services to institutional and private corporations, trusts and insurance companies. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Groome Capital.com Securities Inc.

Units of EMF Life Science Fund are currently available for Quebec residents only.
