(December 20 – 15:50 ET) – Rick Serafini, portfolio manager of Trimark Discovery Fund, has resigned from AIM Funds Management Inc.

Serafini will be replaced by Jim Young, portfolio manager of Trimark U.S. Companies Fund and the Trimark Americas Fund, effective immediately. As well, Bruce Harrop assumes a key portfolio management role as part of the fund’s team.

“The appointment of Jim Young and Bruce Harrop to the Trimark Discovery Fund management team reflects our commitment to utilize the substantial and proven depth we have developed in Canada,” says Patrick Farmer, chief investment officer at AIM. “Trimark Discovery Fund unitholders will be well served with Jim at the helm. The fund will continue to draw on the management team’s experience enhanced by information sharing and teamwork. Trimark Discovery Fund will continue to be managed with the same investment approach,” says Farmer.

Young joined Trimark in September 1999 and has 23 years of investment experience. Before joining Trimark, he was vice president of U.S. equities at Royal Bank Investment Management.
