Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.

  • Curt Cumming has joined CI Financial as senior vice-president, wealth. He’ll also lead the Canadian expansion of U.S.-based alternative investment-focused platform GLASfunds as head of business development, GLASfunds – Canada. CI Financial became an investor in GLASfunds in 2021. Cumming brings 30 years of experience, including 26 with Goodwood Inc. in senior roles ranging from president, CFO and chief compliance officer and head trader.
  • Marc LeBlanc has joined Wellington-Altus Private Wealth as a senior portfolio manager. He brings his entire LeBlanc Family Wealth team with him from CIBC Wood Gundy, after more than three decades with the firm.
  • Wai-Ke Kim has been appointed head of practice management with Odlum Brown. She previously served as vice-president of practice management at Worldsource Wealth Management, and has worked in senior business development roles at Manulife Securities and BMO Life Assurance Co.
  • Clément Chenneveau has joined multi-family office Altium Wealth Architecture as client advisor, wealth management. He has more than a decade of experience in the industry, most recently as a senior wealth advisor and portfolio manager with CG Wealth Management Canada.
  • Michael Lindblad has been appointed head of advisor engagement, eastern region, with Independent Advisor Solutions. Lindblad was previously vice-president, wealth management, with Waypoint Investment Partners for more than four years, and spent nearly 10 years with Vertex One Asset Management as vice-president, sales.
  • Brennan Kennedy has been named senior vice-president and chief actuary at Sun Life Financial Inc., effective Oct. 4. He will succeed Kevin Morrissey, who is retiring after 37 years with the firm. Kennedy, who has spent more than 25 years at Sun Life, is currently senior vice-president of global asset liability management.
  • Bernard Naumann has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association. Naumann is president & CEO of Munich Re and has 25 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry.
  • FP Canada has announced several changes to its board. Teresa Black Hughes has been appointed chair, replacing Ronald Harvey, who will serve as past chair. Christopher Dewdney will serve as vice-chair. Paul Lalonde and Jeff Cormier will also join the board, while Yves L. Giroux is stepping down.
