CI Investments Inc. announced on Tuesday that it is rebranding as CI Global Asset Management (CI GAM).

As part of the rebrand, legacy in-house investment boutique brands Cambridge Global Asset Management, Harbour Advisors, Sentry Investment Management and Signature Global Asset Management will be phased out and operate under the CI GAM banner, according to a release.

Investment managers at CI GAM will share information across the firm rather than within their investment boutiques, the release said.

“We are taking this opportunity to drive better communication and collaboration across our investment organization, which we are confident will lead to better investor outcomes,” Kurt MacAlpine, CEO of CI Financial Corp., said in a statement.

The rebrand is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2021.

Also on Tuesday, CI GAM announced that Brandon Snow of Cambridge Global Asset Management, co-lead portfolio manager of the Cambridge Canadian Equity Fund and the Cambridge Canadian Equity Corporate Class, will retire in 2021 to spend more time with family.

“Brandon played an integral role in building Cambridge into the business that it is today,” MacAlpine said. “We thank him for his contributions to the firm and support his decision to focus on his family.”

Peter Hofstra will now co-manage both funds alongside existing co-manager Stephen Groff. Hofstra, who has more than 18 years of investment management experience, joined Harbour Advisors in 2017.

Hofstra’s assignment to the Cambridge funds will serve as the “first instance of collaboration across CI GAM’s investment teams,” the release said.
