- ZLC Financial, led by CEO Garry Zlotnik and president Michelle Richier, has joined Q Wealth Partners. The Vancouver-based boutique financial services firm focused on serving business owners has a team of 13. “Joining the Q Wealth network allows us to enhance our service platform while staying true to our heritage of providing personalized, expertly tailored financial advice,” Zlotnik said in a statement. “We’re excited to combine our strengths with the Q Wealth team to deliver broader solutions for our clients and next-generation families.” ZLC Financial was founded in 1946.
- Claire Van Wyk-Allan will be joining TD Securities’ prime brokerage division in late March, working on Canadian business development and capital introduction. She’s been with the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) for nearly eight years, and in her current position as managing director, head of Canada and investor engagement for the Americas since April 2024. Van Wyk-Allan previously worked as an inside wholesaler at RBC Global Asset Management and Arrow Capital Management Inc.
- Vince Murton has joined Raymond James Ltd. as a senior financial planner. Murton was vice-president, longevity planning with the firm before departing for Wellington-Altus Private Wealth for a short time in 2021, then starting his own firm IMR Financial Planning Inc. He also has past experience with Edward Jones and as an executive with GBL Inc.
- Tommy Kotsopoulos has joined Investia Financial Services as a financial advisor after more than 20 years with Dynamic Funds, where most recently served as vice-president of business development.
- Darnel Miller has been promoted to head of sales for central Canada at Vanguard, after joining the firm as head of ETF capital markets for Canada and Latin America in 2021. He previously spent 12 years with Manulife in senior roles including head of ETF distribution and capital markets.
- Lesley-Ann Cahill has joined IG Wealth Management as regional vice-president based in Saskatoon. She was previously director of private banking with ATB Wealth, which she joined in 2024, and also has past experience as an examiner with the International Compliance Association and as a regional investment and retirement planning manager with RBC.
- Xavier Debane has been named vice-president and head of strategy and transformation for Manulife Wealth & Asset Management. Debane was previously vice-president, transformation office on a contract basis, and has been with Manulife for more than a decade in various roles focused on strategy, innovation and business development.
- Teresa Lee has joined PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. as head of equity research. Lee has more than 25 years of investment management experience, including 16 years with Sionna Investment Managers, where she was co-chief investment officer for five years before retiring in 2020 to focus on other projects and private investments.
- Shamni Reddy has joined Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management as senior vice-president of business development. She brings experience as an executive recruiter with Vlaad and Company and Korn Ferry, as well as in communications at Canaccord Genuity Group Inc.
- Jordan Solway has been named acting executive vice-president, property and casualty (P&C), a new division of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) slated for startup on Feb. 15. Solway, currently executive vice-president of legal and enforcement, will start in his new role on Feb. 1. He was responsible for setting up the legal and enforcement function at FSRA and brings significant regulatory and P&C operational experience to the task. While Solway heads up the new division, Jeff Kehoe, currently an enforcement director with the Ontario Securities Commission, will act as interim executive vice-president, legal and enforcement. According to a FRSA release, as of Feb. 15, P&C Conduct Supervision, Auto Insurance Supervision and Actuarial Services will “align under the new division to support a more integrated approach to P&C oversight.” There are no changes in regulatory requirements as a result of the new division, the release said.
